I am an artist, designer and educator who’s practice and research explores inclusion. Using such tools as visual communication, collaborative design and social engagement my work aims to provide opportunities for those who face additional barriers to be involved in creativity, ask questions and develop solutions – for themselves and for others.
I am Senior Lecturer on MA Inclusive Art Practice, University of Brighton and co-ordinating Director of the Rocket Artists supported Studios which is a CIC social enterprise. I initially trained as an Illustrator (BA) then an Inclusive Arts Practitioner (MA) and my interests now steer me towards the socially engaged and visually engaging. I explore the relationships between art, design, communities and communication, trusting that visual communication can support wider understanding of ideas and concepts and I continue to explore what can be learned through this process.
